We pride ourselves on providing high quality safety services to our clients and community. This is only possible with the assistance of our amazing team of staff.
We have been working hard to make Zulu Safety a better employer, neighbour and supplier. For a while, we have been working out how we can be a better employer and supplier, allowing us to provide an even better service to our clients. We have a long road ahead of us to be able to achieve all of our milestones of our People Promise and we will, no doubt, keep adding milestones to it. Below are just a few of the steps that we have taken on our road to achieve our People Promise goal.
We take great pride in announcing that we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. Find out below why we have signed the covenant:
The first duty of Government is the defence of the realm. Our Armed Forces fulfil that responsibility on behalf of the Government, sacrificing some civilian freedoms, facing danger and, sometimes, suffering serious injury or death as a result of their duty. Families also play a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of our Armed Forces. In return, the whole nation has a moral obligation to the members of the Naval Service, the Army and the Royal Air Force, together with their families. They deserve our respect and support, and fair treatment.
Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services. Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.
This obligation involves the whole of society: it includes voluntary and charitable bodies, private organisations, and the actions of individuals in supporting the Armed Forces. Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant.
We Zulu Safety Limited will endeavour in our business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:
We recognise the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business and to our country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:
We will publicise these commitments through our literature and/or on our website, setting out how we will seek to honour them and inviting feedback from the Service community and our customers on how we are doing.
We have joined the Disability Confident Scheme. This will allow us to attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace. Not all disabilities are visible, but should all be treated equally and fairly.
There are many roles within Zulu Safety that can be undertaken by a person living with a disability, some of which include frontline roles such as medical and training staff. The disability confident scheme, in association with the Department for Work and Pensions will assist us in recruiting and retraining staff that are suitable for the role.
We are working hard to become a Dementia Friendly organisation. This will allow us to assist our clients that are living with Dementia better, as well as being able to provide better support to their relatives, friends and carers when they are using our services and facilities.
We are still working with teh Armed Forces Covenant and the Disability Confident Scheme to make our organisation better and further fulfil the criteria of their memberships.
